Our Bowker BooksInPrint.com subscription now comes with a complimentary readers’ advisory tool called Fiction Connection. Found at www.FictionConnection.com, you can enter the resource through the homepages and fiction rooms of BooksInPrint.com and PatronBooksInPrint.com. Or, we can set up a link on our website where users can access the site remotely. Now, recommending titles is as easy as typing in an author, title, subject, or ISBN. Fiction Connection will then display a recommended reading list of books that have similar characteristics to the topic originally selected. Never a dead end – every topic displayed has a suggested title. Additional features include the ability to link to our holdings for availability information and printing and e-mail capabilities.

You can now use Fiction Connection to find book suggestions based on books you have already read, authors you like, or topics of interest. You can access Fiction Connection through BooksInPrint.com or PatronBooksInPrint.com (please add copy if you have added an additional link to Fiction Connection). Easily create a personalized list of recommended titles based on characteristics you enjoy. Fiction and biography titles are included and suggestions can be printed or e-mailed for later review. Ask a staff member for a quick overview!

Did you love The Da Vinci Code? Do you love humorous romances? Or, perhaps you prefer books about doctors, lawyers, or astronauts. Maybe you only enjoy books set in Ireland. What ever your interest, (name of library) now offers a new tool to help you find books you know you will love. Use Fiction Connection to help you find your next great read. Simply type in the name of the last book you read, the genre of books you enjoy (ex: mystery, thriller), or the characteristics you find interesting (location, character type, topic), and Fiction Connection will provide you a list of suggested reading titles. You can further explore the books suggested by viewing reviews, cover images, and summaries about the titles. You can easily access Fiction Connection from the homepage of BooksInPrint.com (or GlobalBooksInPrint.com) and through the link found on the library’s website (take this sentence out if you have not set up remote access). You can even access Fiction Connection from your home computer, just ask how! (Again, take out if not offering remote access).
