Announcing Ulrich's Alerts

Ulrich's Alerts is a new, free monthly email notification service from ulrichsweb.com. Now your library's staff and patrons can keep on top of information about serials in their areas of interest. This feature is available to all ulrichsweb.com and Ulrich's Serials Analysis System users. Version 1.0 offers subject-based alerts for newly added titles, title changes, and ceased titles in more than 100 first-level Ulrich's subject classifications.

Click on the new "Ulrich's Alerts" button on the ulrichsweb.com main navigation bar to sign up for this new, free feature. Once you are signed up and receive your first Ulrich's Alert, you will be able to view your current month's alerts and will have access to an archive of previous months' alerts.

Future releases of Ulrich's Alerts will include indication of publisher changes, title-level alerts, weekly updates, and other options.

The Ulrich's Alerts notification service is the direct result of your suggestions and Bowker's commitment to continue to make Ulrich's a dynamic tool for library professionals and library patrons.

ALA Feedback Request & Wrap-Up

Bowker would like to thank all the visitors we had at ALA in Orlando this past June. We had the biggest turnout in years, and it was great to meet so many of our customers past and present. We hope you enjoyed meeting our friend "Gary Pewter" and learning about all the products for your library staff and patrons. Take a few moments to view our online picture book!

In order to continually improve our trade show activities, we ask that you take a few extra minutes to answer our 5 question survey about your visit with Bowker at ALA. Your time and participation are greatly appreciated. We hope to see you in Boston for ALA Midwinter but in the meantime, visit the Bowker Trade Show Schedule at BowkerSupport.com to see if we will be visiting your state soon!

Attention Keystone and
Empire State Librarians!

In the next two months, Bowker will be visiting New York and Pennsylvania, and we want to meet YOU!

If you are planning to attend the New York Library Association show in Rochester or the Pennsylvania Library Show in King of Prussia, then pencil Bowker in your little black book. Forget the pencil, take out the permanent marker and make plans to join us for an informative vendor session where you can learn about the latest enhancements and products from Bowker. Highlights will include the new PatronBooksInPrint.com and Ulrich’s Serials Analysis System.

Feel free to attend whether you are a current customer or you just want to refresh your memory about the time-saving, professional tools Bowker can potentially offer your patrons and staff.

Contact Meghan Nering to be notified of the exact date, time and location of each session.

Snail Mail Presents

In early August, all BooksInPrint.com subscribers were sent PatronBooksInPrint.com tent cards via snail mail. Hopefully, your tent cards made it to your library and are happily sitting next to your library terminals guiding your patrons to their new resource built exclusively for them.

If for some reason your tent cards did not arrive or you would like to request more, please contact Meghan Nering, and we will send some out to you right away!
