CORRECT!

You clearly know your librarian trivia!

In January 1967, DC introduced Batgirl to Detective Comics, their showcase title for the perennial superheroes Batman and Robin. According to issue #359, Barbara Gordon -- daughter of Gotham Police Commissioner James Gordon -- graduated summa cum laude from Gotham State University with a PhD in Library and Information Science. After graduating from college, she became the head reference librarian at Gotham Public Library.

While on her way to the Policeman's Masquerade Ball, dressed in a home-made superhero costume, Barbara stumbled across an attempt to kidnap millionaire Bruce Wayne. Thrilled by the danger of the moment and armed with a brown belt in judo, she succeeded in foiling the bad guys. Her costume was ruined in the process, and she never quite made it to the ball, but from that day forward, Batgirl was born. By day, she continued to work as a librarian -- hidden behind mousy glasses, with her hair tied in a bun -- but by night, she patrolled the streets of Gotham City, using both her martial arts and detective (and library?) skills to fight crime, often assisting Batman in his adventures.
